FAQ

Straight answers.

If you’re skeptical about putting an AI on your business line, good. These are the questions we’d ask too.

Does it make up prices?

No. For dumpster rentals, every price it says is computed by our system from the price list you set. The AI never does the math and never quotes from memory. For pressure washing it doesn’t quote at all; it tells the caller you’ll call back with the number. If you’ve written typical starting ranges into your business info, it can share those only as non-binding ballparks, and it always adds that you’ll confirm.

What if it doesn’t know the answer?

It says so and takes a message. It answers policy questions only from information you’ve written: prohibited items, service area, payment terms, and so on. If a question isn’t covered, it’s instructed not to guess, and to offer to take a message for you instead.

Does it actually book, or just take messages?

That depends on your trade and your setting. For dumpster rental it takes a booking request with the date, size, delivery address, and callback number, and tells the caller you’ll confirm. You approve it on your schedule. If you’d rather it confirm directly, auto-book is available and we set that up with you. For pressure washing it never books, because it can’t see the job; it captures the lead and you schedule after you’ve quoted.

Can I approve before anything is booked?

Yes, and that’s the default. Booking, extension, reschedule, and cancellation requests all wait for you. Requests expire after a window you choose, so nothing sits in limbo.

What happens if your system goes down mid-call?

The receptionist is built to keep the conversation going, take the caller’s name and number, and promise only that someone will call them back, never that something was saved. After every call we check whether anything was saved for that caller; if not, a callback request is created for you. And if our platform were unreachable entirely, un-forwarding your number puts things back the way they were in minutes.

Do I keep my phone number?

Yes. You keep the number that’s on your truck and your website, and forward it to the line we give you. Forwarding is a standard carrier feature; we’ll walk through it with you, and you can undo it at any time.

Can callers tell it’s an AI? Is the call recorded?

Every call opens with “This call may be recorded.” The receptionist is set up as an AI receptionist and doesn’t claim to be a person. We’re finalizing the exact recording and AI-disclosure wording with counsel, and you’ll see it before it’s used on your line.

Can it transfer the call to me?

Not today. Instead it takes a message or a callback request with the caller’s number, which lands in your queue. Live transfer is something we’d build when a customer needs it, but we won’t promise a date.

Does it text my customers?

No. Your callers don’t get texts or emails from us. The receptionist tells them you’ll confirm, and you do that yourself, so the confirmation comes from you, in your voice.

What does setup involve, and what do I need to give you?

A conversation and a short list: the services you offer and, for dumpsters, sizes, how many of each, and price per week; your hours and time zone; your service area and the policies you want it to answer; who should be notified and in what order; and whether you want to approve requests first or auto-book. We build it, run test calls with you, and only then do you forward your number.

What does it cost?

We haven’t published prices yet. Plans will be monthly, with a set number of call minutes included and a per-minute rate beyond that. It isn’t a per-call fee, and it isn’t “unlimited.” Pilot businesses get pilot terms and are invoiced directly; there’s no card on file to start. Ask us and we’ll tell you exactly what we’d charge you.

Which businesses is it for, and which is it not for?

It’s built for service businesses that book one thing at a time. Two trades are running today: roll-off dumpster rental, where units are priced per week, and pressure washing, where jobs are quoted by eye. It isn’t a fit yet for work that needs a crew and multiple pieces of equipment on one job, drive-time or route planning, appointment slots at a specific time of day, live transfer to a person, or medical and legal intake. Tell us what your calls look like and we’ll tell you whether it fits.

Can I see or listen to my calls?

You can read every call. After a call ends, a transcript, a short summary, the caller’s number, and the duration appear in your dashboard, linked to whatever request or message it created. Audio playback isn’t in the dashboard today.

What if I don’t respond to a request in time?

It expires after the window you set and is marked that way in your dashboard. The caller was told you’d confirm, so give them a call. Their number is right on the request.

We’d rather tell you it isn’t a fit than sell you something that doesn’t work for your calls.
